Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vaani Kapoor to bring star power to Global Village Dubai

Fawad Khan, the Pakistani heartthrob who stole hearts in Kapoor & Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is making a grand return to Indian cinema—and he’s kicking things off in style at Global Village this Saturday, April 19.

He'll be joined by Vaani Kapoor and celebrated music director Amit Trivedi for the music launch of their upcoming romantic comedy, Abir Gulaal.

According to organisers, the music launch event will take place at 8pm on the Main Stage, and is included in the regular Dh30 entry ticket to Global Village.

Directed by Aarti S. Bagdi, Abir Gulaal is a heartwarming love story set in London. The film follows Abir, a brooding UK-based chef played by Fawad Khan, and Gulaal, portrayed by Vaani Kapoor—a woman with her own emotional scars. What begins as a chance encounter slowly unfolds into a deep, unexpected connection filled with tender moments, humor, and the magic of second chances.

This marks Fawad’s long-awaited comeback to Bollywood after nearly a decade, and the buzz is real. The film, slated for release on May 9, also features an impressive supporting cast including Lisa Haydon, Riddhi Dogra, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, Parmeet Sethi, and Rahul Vohra.
