Netflix has reportedly approved the first ever original web series from Pakistan, journalist Hasan Kazmi on Saturday said. While official details about the project are yet to be known, he said that the streaming giant has greenlit its first original Pakistani project. According to reports, the series will have three seasons with 13 episodes each. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the claims. Pakistani tweeps seemed excited about the news with many welcoming the possibility of such a series.

The announcement by the government was made after the finale episode of Akbar's latest project, ‘Parizaad’, which shed light on the importance of education and Urdu. "’Parizaad’ brings a change for the betterment. The education department of the Balochistan government is ready to uplift the standard of Urdu medium schools after receiving a humble message from the last episode of the show. The ministry has decided to release the budget to uplift the criteria and standard of Urdu medium primary schools to bring them close to English medium school facilities," Akbar shared.

Anoushey Ashraf’s response to question in an interview got backlash from fans of Khalil Ur Rehman. Anoushey made the comments on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show, ‘TBH’. The interviewer asked the actress, “If someone offers you 25-30 lac [Rs2.5 million- Rs3 million] per day for the Khalilur Rehman drama, then what will you do it?” The VJ replied, “I am not going to do that. I don’t want to do his projects.” Khalil Ur Rehman is an acclaimed drama writer, best known for ‘Mere Pas Tum Ho’. Anoushey wrote on Instagram in response to the backlash, “All I said was what I felt was right. That I don’t agree with his vision and ethos, and that’s my right. It’s an opinion and I put it out respectfully.”
