When four friends take off on a trip to Bangkok on a bachelors party, they have no inkling of how chaotic their lives will soon become.

First-time director K. Chandru’s upcoming Tamil film, ‘Naveena Saraswati Sabatham’ is a fantasy comedy with Jai in the lead role.

Inspired by the American comedy ‘The Hangover,’ this Tamil film will keep the audience chuckling throughout, said Chandru, a former associate of director Venkat Prabhu.

“Jai plays a siddha doctor and with his wedding around the corner, he decides to host a bachelor party for his friends. But an incident in Bangkok throws everything out of gear.”

Supporting Jai are VTV Ganesh, Sathyan and Rajkumar, playing his friends in this comedy. Malayalam actress Nivetha Thomas is paired opposite Jai.

The film was shot in Bangkok and Redang Island in Malaysia.

“While this is a jolly entertainer, there is an important message sent across,” added Chandru.

Produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram the film has music scored by Prem Kumar. Anand Jeeva has cranked the camera.

The film had its share of controversy when it was initially titled ‘Saraswati Sabatham,’ reminding film lovers of legendary actor Sivaji Ganeshan’s film of the same name. At the request of Sivaji Ganesan’s fan clubs, the title was changed to ‘Naveena Saraswati Sabatham.’

“My film is not a remake of the 1966 mythological story,” assured Chandru.
