Dubai: T.O.P, former member of one of the biggest K-pop group Big Bang, just hinted at a new solo album release this year and we’re excited!

While most of you know now, Choi Seung-hyun who is professionally known as T.O.P, was in a K-pop group before he appeared on the second season of the most popular show, Squid Game.

The rapper was a member of Big Bang, one of the biggest groups in the Korean music industry, along with G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. He then decided to leave the group after some controversies in May 2023, a year after leaving his agency – YG Entertainment.

But the 37-year-old made his comeback in the entertainment industry after almost 8 years, as Thanos in Squid Game season 2. He quickly became a fan favourite from the show and gained global recognition once again.

But recently, fans received good news as T.O.P spoke about his plans on making a new solo album and returning as a solo artist during an interview.

According to The Korea Herald, T.O.P is in talks with CJ ENM for a solo contract which includes “plans for a new solo album scheduled for release in the second half of this year.”

“But among global music distributors, CJ ENM is just one of several options he is considering,” an anonymous source said.

However, CJ ENM denied saying there was no such discussion.

While there is no official confirmation about T.O.P’s new album, fans continue to anticipate his comeback as his last solo release was Doom Dada in 2013.
