Award-winning drummer Ollie Howell  will perform at the opening of Q’s, Quincy Jones’ first bar featuring live music in an intimate bar and lounge, at Palazzo Versace Dubai’s West Wing on November 16.

With six decades long career and collaborations with legendary music icons including Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan and Michael Jackson, the 27 Grammy winner and seven times Academy Award nominee, Jones is arguably one the most influential man in the music business.

Q’s is an intimate living room space decked out with plush furniture and mahogany tables facing a stage. The food will be American comfort food from New York and New Orleans with a selection of fine and rare beverages.

Multi-award winning drummer, instrumentalist, composer, producer and broadcaster Howell, will be the official artist in residence and is scheduled to perform through February.

“Ollie Howell is an unbelievable drummer. So creative, I couldn’t believe it. This kid really is a 360-degree, beautiful young cat that I believe has what it takes to make a life out of music,” said Jones in a press statement.

Sweden’s Dirty Loops will be performing on December 9 to 60 guests for Dh3,000 per person, including a three-course dinner and select beverages at Enigma restaurant and bar drinks and petit fours at Q’s.

Q’s is open from Monday to Friday 6pm to 2am. Individuals below the 21 will not be permitted.
