The maker of last year’s most acclaimed album unveiled a new track on Jimmy Falllon’s chat show

Kendrick Lamar isn’t resting on his laurels. Fresh from topping scores of best-of-2015 lists — including the Guardian’s — for his album To Pimp a Butterfly, he premiered a brand new song on Thursday’s edition of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
Untitled 2 — presumably titled as a reference to Untitled, which he performed on The Colbert Report in December 2014 — begins almost as a mellow, funky jam, before exploding into something angrier and harsher in its last minute and a half. It is, as ever, lyrically dense and packed with double meanings, red herrings and allusions.
