K-pop group iKon has had a busy year so far. After their hit song Love Scenario took over South Korea’s music charts, and not to mention its extreme popularity among kindergarteners and elementary students, YG Entertainment’s rising boy act returned to the scene with a new mini-album, New Kids: Continue, and it is being received even greater attention.

Fronted by the infectious pop title track, Killing Me, and sub-title single, Freedom, the seven-member’s mini-album dropped on August 2 and topped the iTunes Top Album charts in 24 countries, of which includes Armenia, India, the Philippines, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and UAE, a day after its release. This is the group’s first-ever achievement on the international iTunes chart since they debuted.

Their comeback track climbed major real-time charts in their homeland. It took the No. 1 spot on Bugs, Mnet and Soribada and No. 3 on Genie and Melon.

The boys ditched their boy-next-door image for a mature and darker concept in their last mini-album of the New Kids trilogy. Member B.I was heavily involved in composing and writing all five tracks and Bobby also took part in writing the lyrics of several songs.

Apart from promoting their new album, the group is scheduled to set off on their first world tour, starting with a concert in Seoul on August 18.
