Dubai-based Filipino dropped from the show after failing to obtain a US visa
Dubai: Ivy Grace Paredes, the Filipino expatriate in Dubai who became an overnight sensation at X Factor UK, was reportedly forced to withdraw from the competition.
The 33-year-old mum, an early favourite in the competition, was dropped from the show after failing to obtain a US visa, according to a report by The Sun UK.
The competitors are supposed to fly to Los Angeles to film a segment of the show. According to the report, X Factor tried to help Paredes with her visa application, but there was not enough time to resolve the matter.
Reached for comment, Paredes begged off from making a statement about the report.
“I can’t talk about that for now. I will air my side of story soon,” Paredes said in a text message to tabloid!
Paredes earned four yes votes in the show’s audition after a powerful performance of Whitney Houston's All The Man That I Need.
The Filipino talent battled her way to the Six Chair Challenge and made it to the Judges Houses stage of the show.
However, an X Factor insider reportedly revealed that Paredes could not travel to Los Angeles after US officials found an issue with her visa application.
