Summing up the situation

Sana's rising fee is driving producers wild. The actress was approached by various directors to sign on for their films, but when she quoted an astronomical sum, the producers baulked and were not ready to sign her on. Rumours are that Sana has been acting pricey ever since she was signed on for a couple of big-budget Indian films. The actress refuses to comment.

Perfect retort

Syed Noor had everyone stumped by admitting on the television on The Zeba Shehnaz Show that there may be more to his relationship with Saima than people thought. Noor dropped the bomb when show host Zeba Shehnaaz needled him by asking if he was irritated by being linked with all the actresses who play vamps in his films. Noor retorted by saying that being linked to just anyone is entirely different from being linked to a girl like Saima.

Family business

Humeira Arshad will be singing for the Urdu film Gunahon Ka Shehr where her husband Ahmed Butt plays the male lead. Rumour is that the husband-wife pair are planning to sign on more such projects that are mutually beneficial to their careers. This will be the first such project involving a husband-wife pair since Adnan Sami and Zeba Bakhtiar (who are now divorced) were roped in for Syed Noor's Sargam in the mid-'90s.

Coming soon

Zill-e-Huma maybe acting soon. The singer and Noor Jehan's daughter says she is ready to give acting a shot after giving it some serious thought. The wannabe actress says she has already received offers from several directors and producers but has rejected most because she has yet to receive any role of substance. She adds that there are some worthy projects that she may just take up in the near future.

Through with transition

Rufi Anam has made an impact in her latest release Murder. Rasheed Dogar's film sees the actress in the role of a press reporter who's following up on a lead for a story on a serial killer. Shamy Khan and Arbaz Khan play the male protagonists in the film. Anam says that with the success of Murder, her transition from theatre to films is now complete.
