Touching Performance
Maera's performance in Khalilur Rehman Qamar's television series Soolee has been appreciated with the TRP ratings of the series hitting an all-time high. The actress's role of a village girl is a favourite among viewers according to a poll conducted by Pakistan TV.
Role of importance
Ejaz Durrani is planning a comeback in Syed Noor's Jhoomar. The veteran actor will be seen on screen after 22 years. The storyline has not been divulged but it's a known fact that Durrani plays a vital role in the film.
Tuning up
Humeira Arshad is hard at work composing music for the film Gunahon Ka Shehr. The singer says she is trying something novel by mixing folk and pop elements. The film will be her first as a music composer.
Aussie delight
Humayyun Saeed is going ga-ga over the Sydney Opera House. Saeed was in Australia to shoot for Javed Shaikh's Khulay Aasman Ke Neechay and a few sequences including two songs were shot in front of the Opera House. Saeed says he fell in love with the building and the area, adding it was an ethereal experience shooting there. The actor feels that shoots in international locales not only enhance the look of the film, but give the cinematographer scope to experiment. Meanwhile, Saeed is planning to direct a film soon, though he will not divulge details.
Asha Bhosle to sing for Jawwad
Asha Bhosle will be singing songs set to Jawwad Ahmed's tunes in Ik Din Loat Ke Aaoonga. The film, which will be directed by Javed Fazil, will be shot in Mumbai.
Back in business
Noor is planning a comeback to the entertainment industry. The actress says she will be seen in an upcoming television series. Noor took a break from acting after getting married and had moved to Dubai with her husband Vikram. She reveals that Vikram is partly financing the serial. The actress also adds that she is not considering getting into films in the near future.
Successful debut
Saima is in seventh heaven as her debut production Majajan is a hit. Saima also plays a pivotal role in the film. The release date for the Syed Noor directed film was delayed for more than six months following the earthquake and the Indo-Pak cricket series.
