Dubai: Ever since the untimely death of businessman Sunjay Kapur, the ex-husband of Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, there’s been a frenzy of speculation about who gets what from his staggering empire.

Social media has been buzzing with one burning question: will Karisma be staking a claim in her former husband’s reported Rs300 billion fortune?

Let’s set the record straight once and for all. If you thought Karisma was counting millions and eyeing mansions, you couldn’t be more wrong. Sources close to the family have now made it abundantly clear – the actress has absolutely no involvement, no stake, and no interest in Sunjay Kapur’s property matters.

“She is not involved in any inheritance or property-related issues in any way,” a source clarified to Times Of India, adding that Karisma’s only concern at this point in her life is her two children – Samaira and Kiaan aged 20 and 15.

In other words, while the world may be busy talking about assets, Karisma is busy with after-school runs, exams, and raising her kids right.

For weeks, rumours have swirled suggesting that Karisma might be gunning for a slice of Sunjay’s vast estate. But insiders insist there’s no truth to those whispers. The late industrialist’s wealth, which includes his majority stake in the $3.6 billion Sona Comstar Group, is not on Karisma’s radar.

“The kids are the rightful heirs to their father’s property and they will get what is due to them. That’s all there is to it,” the family source said.

For the uninitiated, Karisma and Sunjay tied the knot in a lavish ceremony back in 2003. What began as a dream wedding soon turned rocky. After years of marital discord, the couple filed for divorce through mutual consent in 2014, and by 2016 their separation was final.

That same year, Karisma filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay and his mother, Rani Kapur – marking a bitter end to a high-profile relationship.

On June 12 this year, Sunjay’s life was tragically cut short when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while playing polo. His death shocked the business community and Bollywood alike. In the wake of his passing, his mother publicly asserted her legal right over the estate, stating that she holds a majority stake in the group.

But make no mistake: Karisma Kapoor has other things on her mind. With a career that she balances on her own terms and two children to raise, she’s clearly chosen to stay far away from the world of boardrooms, wealth divisions and property disputes.

So, next time someone suggests Karisma is chasing Sunjay Kapur’s billions, here’s your answer: she’s not counting money – she’s counting on her kids.
