Dubai: Justin Timberlake’s return to the UAE has been confirmed. The hit singer — whose album The 20/20 Experience was the top-selling album in 1013 — will hit Abu Dhabi’s du Arena on Yas Island on May 23, nearly seven years since his 2007 concert in the capital city.

Fans suspected the concert announcement was coming when a teaser video went online on January 7. Posted by UthMag.com onto YouTube, the video showed a crumpled paper unravelling to reveal what looks like Timberlake’s silhouette, the hashtag #JTUAE and the date January 9, 2014.

Flash Entertainment have now confirmed to tabloid! that the concert is taking place. It will be the Middle Eastern stop of The 20/20 Experience world tour, which travels North America and Europe throughout 2014.

Tickets, from Dh395, will go on sale on January 16 through Ticketmaster.ae and at select Virgin Megastores outlets. Fans who are du customers will have the chance to get their tickets on January 14 and 15. Timberlake’s fan club, The Tennessee Kids, or #TNkids and MasterCard holders will have access to a pre-sale on January 13. Visit http://thetennesseekids.justintimberlake.com to register for the fan club and receive a special code to access the pre-sale. All pre-sales will begin and end at midday UAE time.

Timberlake’s comeback album, The 20/20 Experience, bagged the title of best-selling album of 2013, with 2.4 million units sold. It came after an eight-year hiatus from the music scene. The announcement of his UAE concert comes on the heels of his triple win at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards for Favourite Album, Favourite Male Artist and Favourite R&B Artist, at the 40th annual ceremony of the award show.
