From Arnold Schwarzenegger to Liam Hemsworth to Sharon Stone... we take a look

    Arnold Schwarzenegger
Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger was all set for a non-invasive heart surgery in 2018 when he suddenly opened his eyes and saw the doctor in front of him, saying: ‘I’m so sorry, but unlike what we planned, a non-invasive surgery... we made a mistake and poked through the heart wall, and there was internal bleeding, and we had to open you up to save your life,’” Schwarzenegger recalled recently. But the good news was that he pushed himself to be back to top form and soon returned to the sets. Image Credit: AP

    Jeremy Renner 2-1684826032217
Year 2023 didn’t begin on the best note for actor Jeremy Renner who tried to stop his snow-removal tractor from sliding and hitting his grown nephew. Instead, he was pulled under the vehicle and crushed on New Year’s Day. The nephew was able to help Renner until help arrived to airlift him to hospital, where he stayed for more than two weeks, undergoing at least two surgeries. Meanwhile, Paramount+ has announced that Renner will return as the star for the third season of the drama series “Mayor Of Kingstown.” Image Credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

    Sharon Stone
Hollywood actress Sharon Stone was struck by lightning, a sixteenth of an inch away from her jugular vein. She told the ‘Evening Standard’ in 2020: "I was at home. We had our own well. I was filling the iron with water. I had one hand on the faucet, one hand on the iron and the well got hit with lightning and the lightning came up through the water. I got picked up and thrown across the kitchen, and I hit the refrigerator. I was like, “Whoa!”’ That’s not all. When she was 43, she suffered from a serious stroke and could not "write my name for almost three years." Image Credit: Instagram/sharonstone

    Leonardo DiCaprio
Hollywood star Leonardo Dicaprio has had quite a charmed life – from having a shark jump in his cage while swimming with them in the ocean to his parachute getting tangled mid-air while sky-diving. However, when Ellen DeGeneres asked him what was the ‘scariest thing you have ever done?’ during his 2016 appearance on her show, he replied: “I was on a plane to Russia, and the engine exploded. I was looking out the window and the entire engine just turned into a fireball.” Luckily, they could make an emergency landing. Image Credit: Reuters

    Emilia Clarke
‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke suffered two brain aneurysms (an abnormal swelling or bulge in the wall of a blood vessel) in a span of two years. The first was in 2011 while she was pumping iron at the gym. It was diagnosed as a subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the space that surrounds the brain). The actress recovered after a week in ICU. In 2013, she suffered another aneurysm which required an intrusive surgery and a month-long hospital stay. Clarke went on to start a charity, SameYou, which helps those recovering from brain injuries. Image Credit: Shutterstock

    Liam Hemsworth-1694087064396
Actor Liam Hemsworth grew up in Australia and surfing with friends and family was one of his favourite past-times. However, he once almost didn't make it back to shore. "When I was a kid, one time I got my leg rope wrapped around my whole body like a ball, underwater," he said of the incident. "Couldn't get up. I was in waist-deep water, but I almost drowned." Thankfully, he came back to shore in one piece. Image Credit: Instagram/liamhemsworth

    Demi Lovato-1694087066373
Singer and actress Demi Lovato has always been vocal about her struggles with substance addiction. In her YouTube Original docuseries, ‘Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil’, she recounts the fatal night of her relapse in 2018. After six years of sobriety, the singer overdosed on substances and was found unconscious by her assistant. Had the paramedics shown up just 10 minutes later than they did, Lovato may not have made it. Image Credit: Instagram/ddlovato

    Travis Barker-1694087062544
In 2008, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker escaped death by a whisker while on a plane that crashed, killing four other passengers. Barker suffered third-degree burns and post-traumatic stress disorder. However, two months later, the artise returned to the studio. "It was really exciting to know I still have my chops. It still felt good," Barker told MTV in his first TV interview after the crash. Image Credit: Instagram/travisbarker
