Rowan Atkinson granted divorce from wife of 24 years
The ‘Mr Bean’ star has been estranged from Sunetra Sastry since 2014
Comedian Rowan Atkinson and his wife of 24 years have been granted a quick divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour”.
The Mr Bean star has been estranged from ex-BBC make-up artist Sunetra Sastry, 54, since 2014.
Atkinson and his wife were granted a ‘decree nisi’ by a District Judge at the Central Family Court in a short hearing lasting less than a minute.
Neither he nor Sastry, who lodged the petition, were present in court for the announcement.
A source earlier told The Sun: “Sunetra was deeply upset to be replaced by such a younger woman.”
Atkinson, 60, has been dating 32-year-old Louise Ford for the past 18 months. She has appeared in Channel 4’s Misfits and starred in Sky’s Chickens.
