The word “super” prefaces both his parents’ professional descriptions, but Liam Stewart wants to find his own way in this world.
The son of rock superstar Rod Stewart and supermodel Rachel Hunter recently signed with the Alaska Aces, a development league pro hockey team based in Anchorage.
Stewart says some children of famous people stay in their parents’ shadow. But he says he doesn’t want to be “that kid,” lazing around the house.
Instead, the six-foot-one-inch, 82kg forward wants to known for his hard work on the ice.
Stewart spent the past four years playing junior hockey in Spokane, Washington. He says there, he was known simply as “Stewie” around the rink, like he was another guy. That, he says, “was awesome.”
