James Woods

Actor James Woods, known for his roles in Nixon and Casino, became emotional during a CNN interview as he recounted losing his home in Pacific Palisades.

"One day you're swimming in the pool, and the next day, it's all gone," he said, fighting back tears.

Woods grew visibly emotional as he shared a touching moment: his wife's eight-year-old niece offered them her piggybank to help rebuild their home.

In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote, "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience."

She added, "This home is where we created so many precious memories. My heart and prayers go out to every family affected by these fires."

Miles Teller

Miles Teller, star of Top Gun: Maverick, and his wife, Keleigh Sperry, are among those who reportedly lost their home in the Pacific Palisades.

Sperry posted a photo of the fires on Instagram, accompanied by a broken heart emoji.

In her post, she also urged evacuees to leave bowls of water outside for animals left behind during the evacuations.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag

Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home, along with Pratt’s parents' house, in the fire.

“The one positive sign I saw as our house burned down was our son’s bed, which burned in the shape of a heart,” Pratt wrote. “A sign of how much love was in this house. So thankful for all the years and memories we made there with our family.”

Cameron Mathison

Cameron Mathison, star of All My Children and General Hospital, shared an update, writing, “We are safe, but this is all that’s left of our beautiful home—the place where our kids were raised and where they hoped to raise their own someday. In an Instagram post, actor Mark Hamill described the current wildfire as the "most horrific" since 1993, when 18,000 acres were scorched, destroying 323 homes in Malibu.

He shared that he evacuated his Malibu home "at the last minute," with small fires burning on both sides of the road as he left.

Priyanka Chopra shares video on Los Angeles fire

Priyanka Chopra, a Los Angeles resident, shared a distressing video of the wildfire on social media, expressing her concern for those affected. In the video posted to her Instagram stories, the rapidly spreading flames were visible in the distance. She captioned the clip, "My thoughts are with everyone affected. Hope we are all able to be safe tonight."

Chopra also posted a photo of a helicopter with first responders working tirelessly to battle the blaze. She expressed gratitude to those on the front lines, writing, "A huge shout out to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help families affected." Amid the chaos, several celebrities are reported to have lost their homes in the devastating fires.

Widespread destruction

Wildfires in Los Angeles have caused widespread destruction, with homes burning in areas like Studio City and the Hollywood Hills. Helicopters were seen dropping water on the flames, though strong offshore winds over 80 mph have made firefighting efforts difficult. These winds are expected to persist through Thursday, with another storm potentially arriving next week. The fires have impacted the city more profoundly than any disaster since the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, with multimillion-dollar homes in the Pacific Palisades destroyed.

Mandatory evacuations have been issued for Malibu and Altadena, with thousands displaced. The economic impact is expected to be severe, with damages potentially reaching $57 billion, making it one of California's worst wildfire events. Authorities are investigating the causes of the fires, with suspicions that power lines may be involved.

While the fires rage, businesses, museums, and entertainment venues across the city have closed, affecting daily life. Sports events like the Los Angeles Kings hockey game and the Lakers’ upcoming match have been postponed due to the crisis.
