Presenters for awards show practice their lines on the stage for the big night

When Whiplash star Miles Teller stepped onto the Oscar stage for the first time, his face said it all. The 27-year-old actor wasn’t slack-jawed, but clearly awed.
“Sweet,” he said to himself while gazing out at the superstar names on the seat-saving placards inside the Dolby Theatre.
“I’m just soaking it all in, man,” Teller told a stage manager.
Kerry Washington, on the other hand, approached her rehearsal like an old pro. Though she arrived in casual jeans, a striped T-shirt and flats, she toted her show-day shoes in a pink shopping bag and put them on before stepping out onstage.
“My shoes are in this bag,” she told a stage manager, then paused to swap her flats for the heels.
“They might be being dyed or not,” she said. “Who knows?”
Wearing the strappy white shoes, she opened a prop envelope and presented a prop Oscar.
The rehearsal actor who accepted the award exclaimed, “I just got kissed by Olivia Pope!”
