Bob Geldof returns for annual Dubai tradition
Irish singer-songwriter will perform during St Patrick’s Day weekend in the city
St Patrick’s Day is coming, and so is Sir Bob Geldof. The Irish singer and musical do-gooder returns to Dubai’s Irish Village for his annual performance on Friday, March 13.
As usual, Geldof will peform a selection of his solo and Boomtown Rats classic hits at the St Patrick’s Day weekend, to mark the annual festival celebrating the patron saint of Ireleand.
“I have been coming to Dubai for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations since 2006, so this will be my ninth visit. Having the gig on Friday the 13th doesn’t faze me in the slightest. Last year, although the rain was ‘persistent’, we still managed to jam into the early hours courtesy of a makeshift stage and plenty of Irish spirit. So whatever the weather, this year is going to be a great craic as well,” said Geldof in a release.
