GOT7’s BamBam is turning the page to a new chapter in his career. On February 6, Abyss Company officially announced the end of their exclusive contract with the artist, stating, “After long discussions and careful deliberation, we have mutually agreed to conclude the contract.”
The agency expressed gratitude for their time with BamBam, adding, “We sincerely thank him for being with us and will continue to support his future challenges and endeavors. We hope fans will keep showing him love and interest as he moves forward.” Fans have mixed reactions for his exit, with many expressing relief owing to his difficulties with the agency, owing to the tight schedules. One fan wrote, "Seeing bambam leave abyss made may day, even though they helped him from the start to build a platform for him in Korea, but they still had their bad sides that affected him. He is free, and I'm thankful."
Another fan asked, "Will he start his own company?" One wrote, "No company is perfect, but I think Abyss did great overall with promotions and production quality. They launched his solo career and made sure he's well-known in Korea. A new chapter opens..."
BamBam, who debuted with GOT7 in 2014, has carved out his own path in the industry. Since signing with Abyss Company in 2021, he made waves as a solo artist with his first mini album riBBon and showcased his vibrant personality on hit variety shows like EXchange 2, Master in the House 2, and My Sibling’s Romance.
With his next move still under wraps, one thing’s for sure—BamBam’s journey is far from over.
