Generation feud: Betty vs Lindsay

Global treasure Betty White has walked slap bang into a spat with Hollywood's favourite trainwreck, Lindsay Lohan, after LiLo took exception to some home truths from the multi Emmy Award-winning actress.

Having a dig at the new crop of hard-partying stars making headlines, 89-year-old Betty lamented, "They party too much, don't learn their lines, are unprofessional and they grumble about everything. I think they are terribly ungrateful." Going on to name names (and that's why we love her!), Betty added,"I cannot stand the people who get wonderful starts in show business, and who abuse it. Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen, for example, … They are the most blessed people in the world and they don't appreciate it."

Not knowing when to keep quiet, Lindsay - who's back in court on April 22 on charges of felony grand theft - snipped, "It's just a bit strange when people feel they must speak publicly about others. Especially a grown woman."

Memo to Linds: Be thankful people still remember your name, sweetie.
