Former Miss USA Fakih arrested on drunk driving charge

Michigan: A lawyer for former Miss USA Rima Fakih says police in Michigan arrested his client on a drunken driving charge.

Doraid Elder tells the Detroit Free Press newspaper that Fakih is "very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she is in right now."

Elder said that police arrested Fakih early Saturday. The 26-year-old Fakih was the first Arab American winner ever.

She was born in Lebanon and raised in New York. She won the Miss USA Pageant in 2010, and her reign ended in June.
