The actor's show, starring Lee Da-hee will release at the end of March
K-drama rom-coms are making a grand comeback, and Lee Dong-wook is ready to impress. His latest series, The Divorce Insurance, has already stirred excitement online, thanks to its witty promos and intriguing teasers.
In the show, Dong-wook takes on the role of Noh Ki-jun, a top insurance actuary at Plus Insurance’s product development team. On the surface, he seems to have it all, but beneath the facade lies a tumultuous past—three divorces that have left him both emotionally and financially drained.
At a recent press conference, director Lee Won-suk revealed why he was set on casting Dong-wook for the role. “Personally, I love him. I have to work with him no matter what. I love him so much. I was wondering what someone who has been divorced three times would look like, and then I saw a photo of him wearing a cap with this foolish expression. In that moment, I thought, doesn’t he look like someone who’s weathered three storms in life?”
Dong-wook, quick to respond, playfully interjected, “If you put it that way, people will get the wrong idea.”
Joining him in the series is Lee Da-hee, who plays a brilliant financial mathematician with a pragmatic approach to relationships.
The Divorce Insurance premieres on March 31 and will be available for streaming on Viki.
