The host said that the fans 'should seek help' for their attachment to idols

BTS fans, known as ARMY, are outraged after the hosts of Italy’s popular radio show Radio 105 made disrespectful remarks about the eldest member Jin and the South Korean boy band. The controversy erupted when Jin’s solo track Running Wild was played, and host Marco Mazzoli reacted with an offensive comment, saying it should be turned off.
Fans quickly took to social media, demanding an apology from both the hosts and the network. However, tensions escalated when another host, Fabio Alisei, addressed the backlash on Instagram Stories—not with an apology, but by further mocking the fanbase.
A circulating clip on X captures the moment Radio 105 played Jin’s single, where Mazzoli can be heard saying, using much profanity, to turn the song off. When another person attempted to intervene, he doubled down, holding to his stance, saying he really didn't care.
The incident has sparked widespread backlash, with fans demanding accountability from the radio station.
The controversy deepened when, Radio 105 host Fabio Alisei escalated tensions by insulting BTS fans. He referred to them as “fairies” and made dismissive remarks, further fueling the outrage.
Alisei addressed the backlash in a now-viral Instagram Story, saying:
“A couple of years ago, we had an argument with the BTS fan because we made fun of them, and a lot happened, especially on Twitter. We found out that the Italian fanbase was very solid and enraged just because we made fun of their darlings." He explained the incident and said that he won't stand for it. Doubling down, Alisei continued:
“I claim the freedom of speech, the freedom to say that I don’t like something or a certain singer. We’ve said this about Prince, about Springsteen—about everyone. But beyond the fact that I didn’t say anything, today, I’ll take a stand against BTS," he said, saying that the fans should seek help because their attachment to their idols is morbid.
Despite mounting backlash, neither BTS’ agency, HYBE Labels, nor Radio 105 has released an official statement. Fans are urging HYBE to publicly address the issue and take action to prevent further disrespect toward BTS.
