Expelliarmus! Spells are easy, poll finds

If Voldemort comes knocking at the door, Gulf News’ poll respondents proved they would know exactly which spells to use to protect themselves.

A wizardly 65 per cent correctly answered in a twitter poll that ‘Crucio’ is an Unforgivable Curse from the Harry Potter series. In another poll, an overwhelming 80 per cent of respondents said ‘Expelliarmus’ was the right spell to use to disarm another wizard.

The results are something Professor Flitwick – who teaches Charms class at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – would be proud of. A few more questions like these, and who knows, our readers could perhaps have passed the Ordinary Wizarding Levels (O.W.L.s)!

Of course, most Harry Potter fans would know that the three Unforgivable Curses must never be used, and can earn dark wizards a one-way ticket to Azkaban, the prison fortress for the magical community.
