The year 2008 was a mixed one for Bollywood with its
share of blockbusters and disasters. But it is time to leave it all behind and look forward to what the industry is working on for 2009.

e+ lists 15 most-anticipated films that will hopefully take Bollywood higher.

1. Chandni Chowk To China
Director: Nikhil Advani (Kal Ho Na Ho fame)
Starring: Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty
Storyline: A bumbling cook from Delhi finds himself in China where he becomes a local hero.
Watch out for: Kumar's kung fu action sequences.

2. Raaz 2 – The Mystery Continues
Director: Mohit Suri (Woh Lamhe fame)
Starring: Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Adhyayan Suman
Storyline: Sequel to 2002's super-hit horror flick Raaz. In this tale, a painter experiences mysterious visions of an unknown girl.
Watch out for: Genuine spooky moments and sizzling chemistry between real-life couple Ranaut and Suman.

3. Delhi-6
Director: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Rang De Basanti fame)
Starring: Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor
Storyline: US-born Indian youngster brings his ailing grandmother to Delhi only to go through a long emotional journey of self discovery.
Watch out for: Mehra's sensitively directed moments and A. R. Rahman's music.

4. Billu Barber
Director: Priyadarshan (Bhool Bhulaiyya fame)
Starring: Irrfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Shah Rukh Khan
Storyline: A unique tale of friendship between a barber and a superstar.
Watch out for: Irrfan's brilliant performance and Shah Rukh's item numbers with Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

5. New York
Director: Kabir Khan (Kabul Express fame)
Starring: John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif
Storyline: Innocent young Asian Muslims caught in the web of terrorism.
Watch out for: Mukesh and Abraham's power-packed performances. Kaif finally makes a serious attempt at character roles.

6. Kambakht Ishq
Director: Sabir Khan (debutant)
Starring: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh, Denise Richards in cameo roles
Storyline: A stuntman goes to Hollywood and makes an impact.
Watch out for: Kumar's stunts, Richards' item number and lavish production values.

7. Veer
Director: Anil Sharma (Gadar fame)
Starring: Salman Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Zarine Khan
Storyline: Based on Salman's story of a warrior fighting evil forces.
Watch out for: Salman's extra-beefed out physique and his macho scenes.

8. Kaminay
Director: Vishal Bhardwaj (Omkara fame)
Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
Storyline: The story is a closely guarded secret but we do know for sure that this one is not an adaptation of Shakespeare's works.
Watch out for: Shahid's transformation from a chocolate boy into a toughie and Bhardwaj's ability to extract a realistic performance.

9. London Dreams
Director: Vipul Shah (Namastey London fame)
Starring: Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Asin
Storyline: A tale of love and friendship against the backdrop of a musical band in London.
Watch out for: Salman and Devgan's onscreen camaraderie. Their earlier release was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

10. My Name Is Khan
Director: Karan Johar (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai fame)
Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol
Storyline: A love story set against the backdrop of terrorism.
Watch out for: Shah Rukh and Kajol coming together onscreen after 8 years. Also, there's talk that Shah Rukh plays an autistic.

11. Kites
Director: Anurag Basu (Metro fame)
Starring: Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Barbara Mori
Storyline: An edgy romantic international thriller.
Watch out for: Roshan's rugged look and his passionate moments with Mori.

12. 3 Idiots
Director: Rajkumar Hirani (Munnabhai series fame)
Starring: Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Madhavan
Storyline: A light-hearted tale of three engineering students that focuses on the drawbacks of the education system.
Watch out for: Aamir looking as young as ever and some terrific humour-laden, thought-provoking moments.

13. Aladdin
Director: Sujoy Ghosh (Jhankar Beats fame)
Starring: Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh
Storyline: The evergreen tale of Aladdin finding a genie in a lamp.
Watch out for: Bachchan's performance as a genie and the sophisticated special-effects that should be a treat for kids.

14. Raavan
Director: Mani Ratnam (Guru fame)
Starring: Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Vikram
Storyline: It is a contemporary tale based on the Indian epic The Ramayan.
Watch out for: Ratnam's deft direction, Rahman's musical score and Tamil star Vikram making an impact as a villain in Bollywood.

15. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani
Director: Rajkumar Santoshi (Andaz Apna Apna fame)
Starring: Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Upen Patel
Storyline: A light-hearted romantic tale with unique twists and turns!
Watch out for: Ultimate eye-candy stars Ranbir and Kaif teaming together for the first time.
