As India celebrates its 73rd Republic Day, Bollywood celebrities joined in on the the spirit of patriotism. Many took to social media to wish fans on the occasion. While Bollywood will be unable to take advantage of the Republic Day theatre release period this year, the holiday had been ringing cash registers at the box office for many years. In 2019, for instance, three films together brought in big numbers at the box office, including Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Thackeray and Uri: The Surgical Strike. Actress Bhagyashree posted an image of herself wearing a scarf in the tricolour.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli sent good wishes to all Indians on Republic Day from South Africa. The couple celebrated the day as a family as they wished everyone 'Happy Republic Day'. This past week, the star couple were embroiled in a public debate after photos of their daughter Vamika went viral on social media.

Actor Varun Dhawan shared a video of him hoisted the Indian flag in Maharashtra and selfie with the tricolour streaked on his cheek. He wrote in the caption: “Had the absolute honour of unfurling the national flag on our Republic Day. When I was in school I would always see some big personality come and do this never imagined I would be asked to do Something like that. Extremely humbled.”

Newly wed couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, took to social media to wish their fans via separate Instagram stories.

Kareena Kapoor shared glimpse of Taimur Ali Khan's 'tricoloured' breakfast on Republic Day. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the Laal Singh Chaddha actress shared a picture of the nutritious and delicious snacks made from a slice of orange (saffron), apple (white) and what appears to be a kiwi (green). She captioned it, “Tim's tri-coloured breakfast” along with a tricolour icon.

Jacqueline Fernandez returned to social media and wished hers fans ''Happy Republic Day India.'' The Srilankan beauty is currently embroiled in a controversy with conman Suresh Chandrashekhar.

Akshay Kumar took to social media and shared the spectacuir Force at the parade in New Delhi. He wished fans on the occasion and wrote,"Goosebumps!! To see the might of our Indian Air Force… leaves you spellbound. Wishing everyone a Happy Republic Day with a proud heart. Jai hind

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty shared a video where she wished her fans a happy Republic Day. She was accompanied by her children who were wearing saffron, white and green outfits.

The megastar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan shared a picture in tricoloured beard from earlier days and wrote in Hindi, "Gantantra Diwas Ki Anek Anek Shubhkamnayein (Many many happy returns on the Republic Day)".
