The ‘Bhais’ of Bollywood have come together for Eid. Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan surprised fans with a teaser trailer of his upcoming film Zero, featuring a special appearance from actor Salman Khan, and sent social media into a frenzy.

Shah Rukh Khan uploaded the video from his official twitter handle @imsrk, which got 5,500 retweets and 16,000 likes, and counting, with the comment: “Yeh lo..yeh lo @aanandlrai ki taraf se...Iss baar Eid Ka Meetha bahut Tez hai. To everyone from me and the whole team of Zero...Eid Mubarak. Love u all & hope u like it. #ZeroCelebratesEid” He essentailly said that the trailer is equivalent to Eid sweets, as it features his cinematic rival Salman Khan.

Tweeps shared the video with #ZeroCelebratesEid, which is now trending.

Blogger @cinemawaali posted: “This has to be the happiest visual in Indian cinema for a very long time! Dono bhaiyon ko dekh kar jiyaara chaknachoor ho gaya (After watching both the brothers my heart burst into pieces.) “Truly! @iamsrk knows how to turn films into celebrations and what better company than the dashing Bhaijaan (Brother), @BeingSalmanKhan #ZeroCelebratesEid.”

Fans were quick to call the one minute video “the best Eid present” and were thrilled that Bollywood’s favourite “king Khans” were in a video together. The video uploaded by Red Chillies Entertainment on YouTube got 2.06 million views in three hours with more than 11,000 comments.

Bollywood singer Guru Randhawa @GuruOfficial tweeted: “This is pure Lit. To see sir @iamsrk and sir @BeingSalmanKhan wishing us all EID! #ZeroCelebratesEid.”

Author and screenwriter @BilalS158 said: “Serving a teaser like no other this Eid...[This is] something you’ve certainly never seen before! Dhamaakedar and Dabangg! #ZeroCelebratesEid.”

Celebrity Radio Jockey @Anushka_Arora tweeted: “Now this has made me smile [from] ear to ear! How lovely! Seeing @iamsrk and @BeingSalmanKhan together on screen makes my heart happy!”

In the trailer, Baua Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) is in awe of Salman Khan, who is introduced as “Eid ka pura Chand” (an Eid sighting) in the video. The two actors dance on a stage and in the background, an announcer wishes the people of India, “Eid Mubarak,” on behalf of both the “brothers”.

Many fans shared screen shots of the clip and commended the actors for highlighting “brotherhood” during the joyous occasion.

According to a report by the newspaper The Indian Express, Zero’s director Aanand L Rai said: “Like all Indians, I am also a festival lover...The energy, vibrancy and bhaichaara (brotherhood) the festivals bring make me joyful and happy. It’s with the same joy that we have made Zero…” The movie is scheduled for release on December 21, 2018.
