Parwaaz, a Hindi drama shot entirely in the UAE, will telecast its pilot episode on November 8 at 9.30pm on Zee Middle East.

Set in the 1990s, the drama chronicles the lives of two men — Adarsh from India and Sikander from Pakistan — who arrive in Dubai for jobs. They get duped by some unscrupulous job agents, but they become friends in the middle of all that upheaval.

“I have got an amazing response from the trailers and I can’t wait to see the viewers’ reaction to our first episode. We shot this serial in the UAE from start to finish. It was challenging yet exhilarating for all of us,” said director Faheim Inamdar of Uttaran fame. Parwaaz has been filmed in Sharjah, Fujairah and Dubai.

“I hope this serial strikes an emotional chord with everyone living here,” said Inamdar. Parwaaz is a finite series with 13 episodes of one-hour duration each.

“We were thinking of making an intelligent series that [is] realistic. Across all channels in India, most TV serials are set against a household and its members who wear lots of make-up. We want to move away from them and make a drama that’s realistic in its treatment,” said Manoj Mathew, Zee TV’s chief content and creative officer for Mena.
