‘Namestey England’ not sequel to ‘Namastey London’

Director Vipul Amrutlal Shah has clarified that his upcoming romantic drama, which is tentatively titled Namastey England, is not a sequel to his 2007 Akshay Kumar film Namastey London.

Kumar, 47, is in “advanced negotiations” to star in the movie, which has been set for a 2016 release.

It will be co-produced by Kriarj Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Essel Vision Productions.

Namastey London also starred Katrina Kaif, Rishi Kapoor and Upen Patel. It followed the story of a Punjabi man (Kumar), who goes to London to pursue his NRI wife (Kaif). Besides directing it, Shah also produced the film.
