Ras Al Khaimah was transformed into a Bollywood hotspot this week as actor Arjun Kapoor’s clan descended upon the beach town for the glamorous wedding of actor Mohit Marwah to his sweetheart Antara Motiwala.
The UAE destination wedding pictures that have been doing the rounds on social media speak a thousand words of their endless revelry as they celebrate wedding rituals such as the sangeet ceremony and mehendi, prior to the actual exchange of vows Tuesday.
Actress Sridevi, who looked resplendent in an ivory creation by designer’s Manish Malhotra, bolstered the glamour quotient considerably. She was accompanied by her younger daughter Jhanvi Kapoor, who chose to go with a floral pink lehenga by Malhotra for the wedding week. Malhotra’s official Instagram account is inundated with pictures of the marriage highlights.
But it wasn’t all about dressing in your finest. The star-studded guest list — which also included Karan Johar, Athiya Shetty, Sonam and Rhea Kapoor — made it their business to dance and sing their hearts out.
The Gunday actor, Arjun Kapoor, injected some Bollywood charm and cheer into the proceedings as he hit the stage to dance to the quintessential wedding song, Dilliwali Girlfriend, with his boy squad. The young men on stage weren’t bothered about being particularly synchronised, but were focused on letting their hair and foot loose. Kapoor was also seen hitting the DJ decks to whip up his own tunes, and also turned bartender for his family during the mehendi ceremony.
The entire clan lived up to the reputation of Punjabis knowing how to throw a grand bash and more.
Kapoor announced his arrival into the UAE with the message: “Idhar chala main udhar chala !!! Actually main apne bhai ke shaadi pe chala !!! #antumoh @mohitmarwah & @antara_m !!!”, which roughly translates into watch out, I am off for my brother’s wedding.
Actress Kiara Advani, who wore a Benarasi lehenga, was a vision in pink as she posed on her hotel suite’s balcony.
On the guest list, Sanjay Kapoor, his daughter Shanaya, wife Maheep Kapoor and cousins Siddhanth Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor were all a part of the groom entourage. Actor Anil Kapoor, who’s currently filming Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with Sonam Kapoor, is expected to join in Tuesday for the nuptials.
Marwah, who looked love-struck in all his pictures, has acted in films including Fugly and director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh.
