The actors posted cryptic tweets hinting at a new film
Actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan may reunite for a sequel to their 2014 film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya.
On Monday, Bhatt and Dhawan posted cryptic tweets on their accounts with a picture where the duo have their backs facing the camera in the midst of what appears to be a field.
The picture had text reading: “Are they coming back?”.
Dhawan tweeted: “I hear the first ever love franchise is in the air! Dharma movies, Karan Johar, Alia, is that for real?”
Bhatt, too, added to the mystery with her tweet saying: “The ‘dulhania’ [bride] is on the move! Is this true though? Dharma movies, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan.”
The official Twitter handle of Dharma Production said: “Ahem. who’s your source, Varun Dhawan, the Dulhania, Alia Bhatt? Watch this space and you are in for a surprise! Karan Johar.”
Shashank Khaitan, who directed the first movie, is expected to come back as director for the film, whose title is rumoured to be Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya.
