This star's mantra is more happiness than Hermes: "I truly believe in the mantra that a big smile is the best accessory. If you're smiling, then that’s your best look,” declares Sharvari. The actress, 27, shares her go-to skincare routine, favorite beauty hacks and fashion must-haves, from homemade Korean remedies breaking fashion rules with confidence.

How do you maintain your glowing skin?

A simple skincare routine — just a face wash, moisturizer and sunscreen.

Are there any home remedies or DIY beauty secrets you swear by?

I use rice water. I make ice cubes out of it and rub them across my face. It works well.

What does it do for you? Is it for dry skin?

No, it’s just for glow and anti-inflammatory benefits. I learned it on Instagram — it’s a Korean skincare tip.

What is one beauty product you can't live without? Something that’s always in your purse?

A lip and cheek tint.

Do you have blush blindness?  If all else fails…

Go to the blush! That’s a good one. I think I do.

How has your approach to beauty changed over the years?

Less is more is something I truly believe in and follow now. Growing up, we used to put everything on our faces and buy as many products as possible, thinking everything would work. But over the years, I’ve learned that less is more.

Do you have a signature makeup look?

Just clean, fresh makeup.

What’s the best beauty advice you've received from your peers?

To follow and maintain a clean makeup removal routine. We put on so much makeup, so it’s very important to take it off properly.

How do you maintain healthy hair despite always having it styled?

A healthy diet helps with both good skin and good hair. I try to eat healthy most of the time, though I do binge occasionally. It’s all about moderation.

Are there any beauty trends you love or avoid?

No, I love experimenting! But I still love clean makeup. I’ll experiment, as long as it stays close to that.

Did you ever go through a beauty phase then later think: "I should really stop doing this"? For me, it was piling on the heavy eye makeup in my teens.

No raccoon eyes for me! But in college, everyone had those puffed-up hairstyles with Tic Tac pins. I used to do that a lot, and later realised it was completely out of trend — meanwhile I was still doing it!

Describe your personal style in three words.

Chic, comfortable, and cool.

Are there any fashion designers you gravitate towards?

I recently attended the Sabyasachi show, and I’ve always been enamored by his creations. He has such a strong story behind his designs—he’s so rooted, and there’s always meaning behind his creations. I love that.

Do you follow a diet before red carpet events or movie roles?

No, I don’t believe in crash diets. But of course, films sometimes require a certain body type, especially for action roles. In those cases, I work towards the goal over the duration of the project.

Do you follow any fashion rules?

I think fashion rules are supposed to be broken.

What’s a fashion rule you broke recently, and people still loved it?

I don’t think I’ve broken any major rules — I just wear what I feel looks good, regardless of what others think.

What’s your biggest fashion regret?

Anytime my sister buys something amazing, I realize I wanted it too. She always gets the best stuff before I do — that's my biggest regret.

Do you steal from her wardrobe?

Yes! The outfit that I am wearing for this interview is actually hers. She’ll probably find out from this interview.
