The spotlight is back on Korea’s biggest stars, as the nominations for the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards—one of the most prestigious honours in Korean film and television—have officially been announced. This year’s lineup is packed with critically acclaimed dramas, buzzy fan favourites, and powerhouse performances, promising a thrilling awards night ahead.

Leading the pack is When Life Gives You Tangerines, which has racked up an impressive nine nominations across key categories. From Best Drama, Best Director, and Best Screenplay to top acting nods for Park Bo-gum and IU, this title is clearly a force to be reckoned with.

Close on its heels, the time-slip romance Lovely Runner has earned six major nominations, including Best Drama, Best Screenplay, and acting nods for breakout stars Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon. Meanwhile, the legal-thriller Doubt makes a strong showing with nods in Best Drama, Best Actor (Han Suk-kyu), and Best Director (Song Yeon-hwa). However, fans are angry about Ji Chang-wook being "ignored" in the nominee list, for Worst Of Evil (2023)
