Dubai: With just a week to go for the opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi, you might wonder - what exactly will you be able to see there?

Art aficionados need not worry.

More than 600 pieces of art are expected to be on display at the museum at any one time, with nearly half of them on loan from French museums.

That means you won’t have to go to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to stare in awe at a Vincent Van Gogh painting. Or wait to visit the Musée du Louvre in France to sneak a peek at a portrait by Leonardo da Vinci.

They’re coming to you, on November 11.

Some of the featured artwork you can enjoy in Abu Dhabi are:

• La Belle Ferronniè, Leonardo da Vinci, 1495-1499
• Self-portrait, Vincent Van Gogh, 1887
• Number 26 A, Black and White, 1948, Jackson Pollock
• Portrait of Fayoum, Egypt, Antinopolis, 225-250 AD
• Children Wrestling, Paul Gauguin, Pont-Aven, France, 1888
• A Young Emir Studying, Osman Hamdy Bey, Istanbul, 1878
