Dubai: Ariana Grande, the star of Wicked, is getting ready to say goodbye to tour life...well, at least for the foreseeable future.

The 32-year-old superstar has hinted that her upcoming 2026 tour might be her last for a "long, long, long, long time".

Speaking on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast on November 18, Ariana opened up about wanting to do what feels right for her soul. And, right now, that means stepping away from the massive arenas and stadiums that have defined her career.

A different chapter ahead

"I think the last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up," she told Poehler. "I don't want to say any definitive things, I do know that I'm very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time."

It's been a whirlwind few years for Ariana. She released her album Eternal Sunshine and starred in the Wicked films which were quite the career double act. Now, after Wicked: For Good comes out, she's planning a small tour before potentially taking a proper break from life on the road.

Following her heart

But don't worry Ariana isn't disappearing completely. She's just planning to follow what feels authentic to her in each moment.

"I think the thing that will be best for my soul and also for my art and for what I'm giving myself is if I'm chasing things that feel very right in the moment," she explained. "I think following those authentic impulses feels like a really good idea, like a good thing."

Back to Broadway?

So what's next for the Oscar-nominated star? She's dropping hints about a possible return to Broadway, where she first made her debut aged just 15 in 13: The Musical.

"It would be a dream to find the right thing to come back to, to be on stage," she told Today on November 18. "We'll see. I'm grateful to be along for the ride."

Whether it's films, theatre, or the odd musical project here and there, Ariana's focusing on what inspires her most right now. And that seems to be acting and stage work rather than massive stadium tours.

"I'll still sing, I promise," she reassured fans. "But yes, right now, that's currently where I'm at."

One thing's for sure – when she does hit the road in 2026, she's planning to give it absolutely everything. As she put it in her own words, "I'm going to give it my all and it's going to be beautiful and I'm so grateful."

It might be a while before we see Ariana on tour again, but at least we know she'll be making it count.
