Picture this: 45 kilos of glorious cheese, surrounded by fruit and crackers
Tom and Jerry just turned 85 – but instead of slowing down, the legendary duo just sprinted into the Guinness World Records with a cheese platter that would make even Jerry faint with joy.
To celebrate Cheese Day (yes, that’s a thing) and the 85th anniversary of the world’s most iconic cat-and-mouse chase, Warner Bros.
World Yas Island Abu Dhabi teamed up with Arabic food network Fatafeat to create the longest cheese board ever. And guess what? They did it – officially snagging the Guinness World Record for it, no biggie.
Picture this: 30 meters of dairy delight. That’s 345 kilos of glorious cheese (80% cheesy goodness to be precise), surrounded by fruit, crackers, and fresh bread—all artfully arranged and irresistibly Instagrammable. Oh, and before you ask—yes, every bite was put to good use, with leftovers donated to Grace Conservation (Hifz Al Naema) to support families in need. Cheese with a cause? We are in.
But wait—there’s more! Fatafeat’s top chefs (eight, to be exact) and host Chef Firas Kazma served up culinary flair, behind-the-scenes laughs, and non-stop entertainment while assembling this epic platter in just 4 hours.
And to mark this cheddarific occasion, get ready for “Tom and Jerry’s Big Cheese Adventure”, a five-episode mini-series premiering June 4 on Fatafeat. It’s got everything: theme park shenanigans, nostalgic recipes from the cartoon, and enough cheese puns to make your heart melt.
ICYMI, the fun spills over onto Cartoonito with daily Tom and Jerry marathons from June 2 to 15 and a cheese-fueled takeover on the Cartoonito MENA YouTube channel—because who doesn’t want to start their day with a little mischief?
This record-breaking stunt proves once and for all: Tom and Jerry may be 85, but they’re still the main characters. And if there’s cheese involved? You can bet Jerry’s already halfway there.
So, get comfy, grab some brie, and tune in—because this summer, Abu Dhabi is serving history, hilarity, and a whole lotta cheese.
