Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cabinet on Tuesday approved the establishment of the UAE Council for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The council will be responsible for applying the UAE’s fourth industrial revolution strategy and supervising its implementation. It will also supervise the implementation of a framework for governing legislative regulations and policies that support the strategy.
The establishment of the council coincides with the launch of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit’s activities in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
The setting up of the council also follows the announcement of the UAE Government in November 2016, during which it launched the first executive plan in the world for the fourth industrial revolution.

Other members include Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Ohoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness; Shamma Suhail Faris Al Mazroui, Minister of State for Youth; Mohammad Omran Al Shamsi, Chancellor of Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE University and Khalifa University for Science and Technology.
