Dubai: VFS Global, the world's largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions, has announced the relocation of its visa application centres in Dubai's Wafi Mall to a new space within the same complex, effective March 17.

The visa centres, currently operating in Phase 2 of Wafi Mall, will move to Phase 5- Horus, First Floor, Umm Hurrair 2, Dubai. Travellers with pre-booked appointments have been urged to double-check their appointment details to avoid confusion. VFS Global manages visa, passport, and consular services for various countries, making the application process more streamlined for travellers.

Monaz Billimoria, Regional Head – UAE, VFS Global, has advised travellers to apply for visas well in advance with the summer peak season approaching. She said, "Summer is approaching, and plans for those annual getaways are underway. But summer is also peak travel season, which means higher volumes of travellers applying for their visas."

"But by simply planning ahead and being prepared, you can simplify the process and focus on the joy of travel," said Monaz.

Here are some tips for a stress-free and on-time visa application experience, especially for the Schengen visa:

Apply in Advance: It is recommended to apply for visas as early as booking flights and stay. "Particularly this year with expected higher demand, we urge applicants to apply for their visa as early as possible. Most countries accept visa applications up to 90 days (3 months) before your travel date. You can apply for a Schengen visa up to 6 months before departure," said Monaz.

Check for visa processing timelines: During peak season, visa processing at the Embassy/ Consulate can take longer than usual. These timelines are mentioned on the country-specific websites (accessed via www.vfsglobal.com) and the respective Embassy/Consulate website

Follow the checklist: The documentation required for visa applications for each country served by VFS Global is available at www.vfsglobal.com. Refer to this and carry all the requisite documentation to submit along with the duly filled application form. Also, check your passport's validity. Many countries require a passport valid six months beyond the return date.

Book an appointment: Appointments to submit a visa application are available online on the VFS website, and availability is reflected in real time. Once applicants choose a preferred date and time, it is recommended that they arrive at least 15 minutes before the appointed time to avoid missing their slot.

Track your application: Once the application is submitted, applicants can track the progress of the application online. The status will be updated when the passport is ready for collection/delivery.
