Dubai:

Dell has launched the world’s smallest and thinnest 13.3-inch laptop — XPS 13 — with a virtually borderless infinity display with touch facility.

Rajat Rallan, senior brand merchandising manager for Dell Middle East, Turkey and Africa, told Gulf News, that it has a chassis of an 11-inch laptop so the bezel is so thin.

“This is a great device for business users requiring a wider screen and comprehensive battery life without sacrificing portability,” he said.

The laptop has a QHD+ (3200x1800 resolution) screen with Corning Glass. It has 8GB RAM and 256GB solid state drive storage capacity. It runs on Windows 8.1 and is powered by Intel Core i7 2.40GHz processor. It weighs 1.27 kg.

Rallan said Dell has two models right now for Gitex — i5 and i7 QHD+ display. It gives up to 15 hours of battery life.

Dell also has Full HD machines without touch facility but they are not launching it now in the region.

The stereo speakers are tuned with Waves MaxxAudio. It has two USB 3.0 ports, one mini Displayport, one 3-in-1 SD card reader, headset jack and Noble lock.

He said the i5 machine is priced at Dh5,999 and i7 at Dh6,999.

“It is expensive because of the form factor and it is thinner than a MacBook Air,” he said.
