Building material prices drop

Abu Dhabi: Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) issued its monthly report on the prices of building materials which showed a decline in the prices of key building materials in Abu Dhabi in August.

SCAD's report showed that the largest drop recorded in the average price was of the ‘Aggregates & Sand' group, which dipped 17.7 per cent, reflecting price falls in the range of 11.1 - 20.8 per cent.

The next largest fall was in the average price of paints, which eased 10.1 per cent mainly due to a 27 per cent decrease in the price per gallon of ‘Durosan matt emulsion/UAE'.

SCAD's report of building materials prices report surveys the prices of 21 groups of commodities and services that represent the most important materials used in the construction activity.
