Two-way trade between UAE, Sri Lanka at $1.35b

Abu Dhabi: The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) is aiming to attract more investors and entrepreneurs from Sri Lanka after the Free Zone’s director addressed investors in Colombo.

Officials from SAIF Zone said a number of Sri Lankan companies have been interested in venturing into Sharjah’s free zones, and may set up operations there in 2017. The UAE is already a major trading partner of Sri Lanka, with two-way trade between the countries in 2015 reaching $1.35 billion (Dh4.95 billion).
