Dubai: Majid Al Futtaim on Sunday held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its new Carrefour regional distribution centre at the National Industries Park, NIP, in Dubai.
Younis Al Mulla of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, added, “The facility is four times the size of Carrefour’s largest distribution centre in the region. The centre will also feature advanced warehousing, storage and logistics technologies. The distribution centre is expected to save over 50 per cent in energy per cubic metre.”
The multi-temperature storage at the new distribution centre is designed to meet the storage needs of different food types and warehousing needs of non-food goods. It has a total storage capacity of over 400 million units.
