Dubai's Taaleem gets boost with new DBS Mira school opening

Latest school is located in Emaar's Mira Oasis 2 with an initial 708 students

Dubai: The school operator Taaleem is getting a further revenue boost with the opening of the Dubai British School (DBS) Mira in Dubai.

This is the second 'greenfield' school that opened under the DBS brand as well the fifth overall in the Taaleem portfolio.

The new one is located in Emaar's Oasis 2 and opened at full first-year capacity with 708 students.

Initially, the school takes in students aged between 3 and 11 in early years foundation stage 1 to Year 6. DBS Mira is expected to serve more than 1,800 students once the campus is fully utilised.

Existing DBS schools in Jumeira, Emirates Hills and Jumeirah Park have over 4,000 students, with DBS Jumeira having seen 'extremely strong demand since its launch in August 2024'. Its student numbers increased from 550 at launch to 830 for this academic year.   

Taaleem will open the first Harrow International Schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai next year.

On DFM, the stock's turned in an impressive 21.87% gain to Dh4.68.
