Clientele will be UAE government agencies, opening up new revenue possibilities for du
Dubai: The Dubai headquartered telco du has launched its 'sovereign cloud platform' as it seeks to drum up more big-ticket contracts for its cloud services.
The du cloud platform will be for the 'unique needs' of the UAE government and large organizations 'seeking both the agility of the public cloud and the assurance of data sovereignty and tailored security'.
Cloud services and cutting-edge data centers have been massive opportunities for tech and telco giants.
The 'du Tech National Hypercloud' is in line with 'du's committed efforts to create an infrastructure that is sovereign, secure, and scalable to serve public entities.
du has a suite of 150-plus Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services that span infrastructure, platform and applications with embedded AI capabilities.
Jasim AlAwadi, Chief ICT Officer at du said: “We are excited to debut our National Hypercloud platform, fostering digital innovation for our customers while honouring the importance of national data control.”
The service is hosted within du Tech's liquid-cooled data centres.
“Our homegrown National Hypercloud ensures that the UAE's digital assets remain within the country's borders,” said AlAwadi.
du expects the offering will help with how public sector entities operate, providing a 'tailored environment' for rapid cloud adoption (and) managing data with enhanced control over security and locality.
