Hideo Ichikawa, president of the Abu Dhabi Oil Co (Japan), (Adoc), which has been operating in Abu Dhabi for more than 30 years, concluded his visit to the capital.

The Japanese official met Abdullah Al Masaood, chairman of the National Consultative Council and representative in Abu Dhabi of the UAE-Japan Society, Yousef Omeir bin Yousef, secretary-general of the Supreme Petroleum Council and CEO of Adnoc, and other dignitaries.

The first Japanese company to enter the UAE, Adoc operates three concessions in Abu Dhabi, namely the Mubarraz area and two supplementary concession areas, the West Mubarraz area and the Newat al Ghalan concession.

Total current production is 31,000 barrels per day. The concession areas are for a 45-year period up to 2012. In May the company commissioned a sour gas injection project.
