Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co (Adma-Opco) has been awarded OHSAS 18001 certification in recognition of its strong focus on quality occupational health and safety management, as well as its commitment towards risk management processes implemented across the company.
Bud Fackrell, general manager of Adma-Opco, was presented with the certificate by Yngve Amundsen, Middle Eastern manager for Management System Certification services, part of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), the world's leading provider of high integrity certification services.
When presented with the certificate, Fackrell said: "I feel very honoured to receive this recognition. It is not an individual action that has led to this certification, rather, it reflects sustained and long term team efforts by all Adma-Opco employees, and their commitment to improve occupational health practices and the pursuit of safety excellence."
He said it was heartening to hear from the external auditors that the risk management approach is well embedded in all of the company's processes.
The auditors also indicated that the company is one of the first in the world to gain such an achievement.
"Today marks the acknowledgement of our labours and like me, everybody in the company has the right to feel justly proud of this certification," he said.
Yngve Amundsen said the certification represents the leadership values and focus towards quality of operations and services to which Adma-Opco is dedicated.
