Gocash gets strong consumer response

Middle East’s first six-currency prepaid travel card

Dubai: Gocash, the region’s first multi-currency prepaid travel card launched by UAE Exchange Centre, has received a strong response from the consumers, a senior official told Gulf News.

“Travellers can load $5,000 equivalent amount on to the card in six currencies from a bouquet of 15 — to offer them convenience when they travel,” Y. Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO – Global Operations, UAE Exchange, told Gulf News. “We have kick-started a revolution in world travel!

“This is a unique product and the first of its kind in the region. It has received a strong response, especially from people who are planning to travel.”

One of the significant advantages of Gocash to the customer is the exchange rate lock facility that allows pegging the rate at the prevalent market price at the time of loading the card.

“UAE Exchange has always been at the forefront in offering innovative and diversified product range. We are confident to position gocash as a revolutionary product, which we have launched with MasterCard, our long-time partner,” Shetty said.

“This new innovation is in line with our vision to bring as much convenience for our customers as possible, under one roof,” he added.

Gocash, will empower travellers to move around the world, hassle-free, with a power-packed plastic currency that can be used across 34.3 million merchant locations and 1.5 million ATMs.
