Dubai: Audi Middle East posted its strongest ever July sales figures with sales increasing by 34 per cent over the same period in 2011, according to a statement released by the company on Wednesday.

The German carmaker’s overall sales in the region rose by 17 per cent in the first seven months of 2012 with over 4,935 units sold, of which 661 units were sold in July alone, the company said.

It added that a surge in sales of the Audi A6 sedan, which witnessed a 76 per cent sales rise selling 1,006 to date, boosted the company’s overall sales numbers. It was closely followed by the Audi A8L and the Audi Q7 SUV.

The UAE, meanwhile, remains Audi’s strongest market in the Middle East with a total of 2,024 vehicles delivered to customers in the first seven months of the year, thereby representing a 41 per cent share of the company’s total Middle East sales.

The UAE is followed by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait with 1,025 and 671 vehicles sold respectively. The company said it is growing rapidly in all three markets, registering high double-digit growth figures.
