Porsche has revealed the revised 2021 Panamera range. While there are subtle styling updates across the lineup, the most significant change for 2021 is the addition of a Turbo S variant with an enhanced powertrain. Image Credit: Supplied

Replacing the previous Panamera Turbo, the new Turbo S is powered by an uprated 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 making 620 horsepower and 604 lb.-ft. of torque. These figures represent a significant bump in output compared to the outgoing Turbo (550 hp and 567 lb.-ft.). Image Credit: Supplied

This new engine enables the Panamera Turbo S saloon and Sport Turismo models to run from 0 to 60 mph, using Launch Control, in 2.9 seconds (3.0 seconds for the Panamera Turbo S Executive). This is only a marginal 0.5 seconds quicker than the previous Panamera Turbo models though. All Panamera Turbo S models reach a top track speed of 196 mph. Image Credit: Supplied

The twin-turbo V8 in the Panamera GTS now gets a 20 horsepower bump, churning out 473 hp and 457 lb.-ft. Porsche says the model’s throttle calibration has been tuned to mimic the responsiveness of a naturally aspirated engine. The standard Panamera models now feature a 2.9 litre twin-turbo engine making 325 hp, replacing the previous 3.0 litre single-turbo unit. Image Credit: Supplied

The new Panamera’s interior has also been updated for 2021 with a redesigned multifunction Sport steering wheel with shift paddles. The Panamera range now gets an enhanced hybrid offering with a new plug-in hybrid model; the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. An electric motor paired with a 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 engine results in a system power of 552 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid saloon can reach 60 mph using Launch Control in 3.5 seconds, and has a top track speed of 185 mph. Image Credit: Supplied

For the 2021 model year, all Panamera E-Hybrid models feature a 27 per cent larger hybrid battery capacity (up to 17.9 kWh from 14.1 kWh previously) as well as recalibrated drive modes to optimise performance and efficiency of the powertrain. Image Credit: Supplied
