Dubai: When you’re looking for souvenirs to take back home, you can forget about the typical key chains, fridge magnets and T-shirts.

A 3D printed version of the Burj Khalifa is now available.

On its official Twitter account, the Burj Khalifa announced on Tuesday that visitors can get their own 3D printed model of the world’s tallest tower.

This is not the first time that 3D printers have been used for commercial purposes. Last March, the sweet shop Candylicious at The Dubai Mall announced the installation of the machines in its store, where customers were able to purchase the world's first 3D printed sweets.

Dubai also made global headlines in May, when the world’s first fully functional 3D printed building was inaugurated by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Did you know?

The 162-storey-tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, to coincide with the fourth anniversary of the Accession Day of Shaikh Mohammad as the Ruler of Dubai.

The Burj Khalifa holds the record of the tallest building in the world, the highest outdoor observation deck in the world at level 124, and the world’s highest swimming pool on level 76.
